Any purchases or progress made in the game is valid only on the device with which it is made. This is a disadvantage to users who do not own a device; or those who own multiple devices; or those who switch devices. I think it would be much better if at least items that can be purchased with money would belong to the user who purchased them rather than be losable.

This is especially true for things purchased in somebody's name with money!! I have seen stupider money-making schemes with apps that charge real money for hints -- so this is on the benign end of money-making schemes. Still, I think people would be more likely to purchase a character with real money if they could log in and keep that character.

They would not even need each player to have a log-in or anything -- just an order number for each item purchased -- or a download number for the game -- or whatever the equivalent is of an ip address of the devices used by each player... so I guess that is akin to a login. I for one would be much more inclined to consider doing business with the makers of a game that would keep some record of my progress and purchases.
On a side-note I will say that I am not an avid gamer. I do not know what is considered normal in mobile gaming -- I just do know that I am not the only one who is afraid of losing progress -- or already has lost progress. (I have not lost any yet, knock on wood.)
