Here is a list of the missions in the Sea Stars game, and ways to get through them more quickly:
drop from Stanley Stork 3 times -- Literally the quickest way to do this is to start the game three separate times; tap the pause area; and reset the level.
Jump 15 times -- only small jumps are required. In fact, your swim star is more likely to remain alive if you do not try to make fifteen full jumps. I just weave up and down for a while, until the sign shows that the mission has been accomplished.
collect 250 coins in one swim -- If you have Niji like I do, this takes less than a minute to do. While you are still working up to Niji, it is still possible... try to catch a clamshell with coins in it -- that makes everything faster.
use a jelly shield -- the quickest way to do this is to select the jelly shield as soon as the swimstar falls out of Stanley's beak.
use each sea star buddy once -- the game usually cooperates and sends you enough sea stars to catch. If you have all of the pets, you can actually do four separate rounds, using the specialized pet: Amber the Squid for Squinky; Clip for Scuttles; Big Blue for Storval; and Liam the Eagle for Molt. On an iOS device ONLY, you can equip two pets at a time -- then you can double up: Amber and Squinky; Big Blue and Storval -- or use Alexa the Sea Star in conjunction with each of the four aforementioned. Alexa increases the number of Sea Stars quite reliably. A third option is to just play the game, teaming Alexa the Sea Star with Desmond the Frog. Desmond hangs on to each Sea Star on the way to make certain you catch it. Alexa+Desmond will make sure you have lots of Sea Stars that you actually catch -- but they will be in random order. Since I have an android device, I cannot use two pets at a time. And it still requires only one or two rounds to get all the Buddies.
Bump 20 Seagulls in one swim -- The most effortless way to do this is with Molt: Molt literally rides the waves as the seagulls do, so every seagull (icon) gets hit when Molt is in the scene and the player does not have to do ANYTHING but wait for the seagulls to get bumped. The caveat is of course avoiding dangers while you do this. If you already have "Liam the Eagle", you don't even have to worry about dangers: you just catch the next Sea Star and keep going. Other nearly effortless ways to bump seagulls (icons) are: holding storval at the constant height of the water line (this is actually safer than using Molt because Storval can be moved out of danger's way more quickly); floating without a character at the water line and tapping lightly just before each seagull; weaving the water line during a speed blast; or weaving Squinky along the water line. Scuttles cannot reach the water line, and thus cannot bump seagulls. the most helpful pets to bump seagulls are: Liam the Eagle, Baby Blue, and Alexa the Sea Star. In all cases having a blowfish (McPuffmin) cover makes this job even easier.
travel 1500 meters in one swim
Invite the rainbow birds one time -- this is hardly worth mention, but if you have Ava the Parrot, all you need to do is to let the swimstar drop from Stanley Stork; and make it jump five times. Starting a round with Ava the parrot usually puts no obstacles in making the first few jumps anyhow.
Use Squinky three times -- easiest if you have Ava the Squid -- then one (sometimes two) rounds is all you need to complete this mission.
Hurt your tail four times -- reset the level four times.
Collect 3000 coins -- easiest if you have Niji the Narwahl, or at least the coin vortices.
Collect 3 clamshell prizes in one swim -- easiest of course with Kayla the Unicorn; but doable in one swim regardless.
Swim 400 meters with Scuttles in one swim -- the only way to ensure this will happen in the first try is to swim with Clip.
Swim 2400 meters not as Dante the Dolphin -- it is somewhat frustrating to get this mission for the first time, because points tend to be scarce at the beginning of the game; and you may not have another character yet. But if you have another character, you just swim a round (or three); and this is accomplished automatically.
Have two near misses with the rocket crabs in one swim -- getting out of the way of rocket crabs seems easiest with molt, because the rocket crabs hone in on a particular height; and by the time it gets to Molt, Molt will be at another height (but has to be close enough to make a "spark" between Molt and crab). Storval is easy to hold at a constant height and to get out of the way in time. Swimming with Saffron (or Matteo or Butterbean) helps to be more confident; and will protect at least against one misjudgement in missing the crabs (icons). If I am not with a buddy, I most often hold the swim star at the lowest point and hover in an out. Hopfeully one of the warning signs turns red just above ground; and the swimstar can miss it by returning to the ground. Hint: Near misses can be accumulated even while the swimstar is protected -- so playing around with this mission with Jelly Shield or McPuffmin protection is easiest.
Pop 10 bubbles in one swim -- this happens almost without thinking about it; but any of the buddies seems better at popping bubbles than being without one. Especially Molt seems to hit two bubbles at once sometimes. During a speed blast some bubbles can be popped with no effort (by weaving the waterline slightly).
Travel 9000 meters -- This happens automatically as you play; and does not have to happen within one round, although it can.
Buy and use a sea buddy coin vortex -- this is fulfilled as soon as you have purchased a sea buddy coin vortex for 5000 points; and have caught a Sea Star with the sea buddy for which you have the coin vortex, this mission will be completed. If you have Niji the Narwhal, this mission will be complete by the beginning of the round after getting it -- collecting one coin with anything that has a vortex on it will complete this mission.
Swim 1800 meters with Squinky -- this mission does not have to be completed in one round. If you use Amber the Squid, it probably will be completed within one or two rounds.
Travel 800 meters in the air in one round -- any time the swimstar spends in the air counts toward this -- best way to complete this is with Molt, Squinky or Storval -- meaning that Liam, Amber or Baby Blue will increase chances of completing this mission in the first attempt.
Wipe out between 500-550 meters -- resetting the round does not seem to work for this one. Somehow you have to bump into a Jelly in the said range; and hopefully one shows up when you need it. Do not take Kayla, Kieran, Alexa, Desmond (Krissie) along for the ride; do not catch sea stars and to not catch clamshells -- otherwise you will find yourself with a speed blast, an invincibility spell, or no enemies left to fulfil(l) the task.
Grind along the ground for 3000 meters -- best way to complete this is by using a speed blast. Otherwise one can complete it by simply grinding along the ground as a default position for several rounds. The advantage to using the ground as a default position is that you are at a constant height (good for controlling exposure to rocket crabs (icons)); and are always at a position from which you can rise up. The "ideal way" to complete this would be to purchase a speed blast as soon as you start a round; complete seven jumps to invite the rainbow birds; then use another speed blast; and so on. After three speed blasts and two rainbow episodes, this mission will be all but done. I have never done it this way. Just as a heads up as to whether to skip this mission for points or to complete it: it is much better to complete it. Even if you end up purchasing three blasts, it would cost 2850 points instead of 10 or 15 thousand to skip. Also note: you cannot "grind along the ground" with Scuttles, Molt or Squinky; and I am not sure about Storval.
Get 7 near misses with the Jelly Chains in one swim -- This usually happens in any case. I have found that this mission is particularly easy to accomplish with Molt; and nearly as easy with Storval. As you go past the Jelly Chains during a speed blast, you still get near misses even though you have no chance of dying. Also if you have Jelly Shield or McPuffmin protection, you can still get near misses.
Use a coin-multiplier prize -- you need to have purchased this at some time in your gameplay. Once purchased, it is yours. The only way to hasten the appearance of this prize is to invite Krissie the Clam and/or Kayla the Unicorn so that as many clamshells (icons!) as possible come your way. The game has a tendency not to give you the particular prize you need to complete a mission -- to keep you playing longer until you do. Annoying, but in a limited way.
Use Scuttles 3 times -- if you have Clip as a pet, this is a cinch.
Travel 400 meters with Squinky in one swim -- if you have Amber the Squid, this is a cinch.
Use a speed blast -- either tap the speed blast when it shows up (at the beginning of a round or after the rainbow birds leave) or wait for a free one in a clamshell. Note: DO NOT skip this mission for 5000 points! It costs only 950 to get this mission out of your way instantly.
Jump 120 times -- just do it. Use shallow jumps to make them shorter and take less time. Avoid collecting sea stars until this is complete. If you just weave up and down for three or four rounds, this is done with. (Of course, on some rounds you can earn 10000 points, so if your consideration is whether to play as you wish for a round and earn 10000 points to skip this; or to do it manually, it is probably better to buy it out.)
Pop 20 bubbles in one swim -- same as "pop 10" -- Storval and Molt are the best at popping bubbles.
Call in the rainbow birds twice in one swim -- easiest if you have Ava the Parrot.
Collect 12 shell prizes -- use Kayla the Unicorn.
Collect 5 sea buddies in one swim -- use Alexa the Sea Star (with Desmond the Frog, in case you are on iOS)
Swim 500 meters not collecting any coins -- Do NOT take any pets that help collect coins, or they will collect despite your efforts! DO go out of your way to avoid Sea Stars and Clamshells. Float at the surface of the water, weaving gently to avoid any coins. It is worth learning to do this over spending 15000 points to skip this mission!
Jump 25 times in one swim -- keep the jumps shallow and avoid collecting sea stars to hasten completion of this mission. Avoid sea stars until this has been completed.
Swim 8000 meters through the water -- completes automatically as you play. Do not pay to skip this one.
Travel 400 meters with Molt in one swim -- Using Liam the Eagle and the slightest bit of common sense will ensure completion of this mission on the first try.
Bump 36 seagulls in one swim -- Molt and Storval are best -- meaning that Liam or Baby Blue are best to take along as pets. See more advice under "bump 20 seagulls in one swim" above.
Get 12 near misses with the rocket crabs -- see advice on getting misses with the rocket crabs above. I almost always use up coins to skip this one; but now that I have Saffron, I try it. So, to complete this I would travel with Liam and/or with Saffron.
Get 100 near misses with the Jelly Chains -- if you have enough points, buy out of this. (see advice above about getting near misses with the Jelly Chains.)
Pop 100 bubbles -- if you have enough points, buy out of this. (Otherwise Molt and Storval are best at popping bubbles).
Collect 5 clamshell prizes in one swim -- use Kayla the Unicorn (if you have iOS use both Kayla and Krissie).
Travel 1500 meters without a clamshell or a buddy -- I have ALWAYS opted to skip this.
Swim 1800 meters in the water in one swim -- this just happens if you let it... avoid lots of jumping to be sure. Having a sea buddy with you is OK -- except Molt, since Molt travels in the air only.
Use scuttles for 1800 meters -- use Clip if you have him.
Use Molt three times -- Liam the Eagle can help. Please note that even a short trip with Molt suffices -- so if you have Liam the Eagle, you can catch Molt, bump a Jelly Chain, and catch him again -- all in quick succession.
Travel 4000 meters through the air -- most easily achieved by riding Molt, Storval or Squinky; but also just by jumping a lot. So Liam, Baby Blue or Amber can hasten progress.
Grind along the bottom 1000 meters in one swim -- This is easiest if you tap the speed blast at the very beginning of a round. Do not pay coins to skip this!! It takes 950 points and one minute to complete at most!
Drop from Stanley Stork ten times -- start and reset a round ten times just to get this one out of your way.
Collect 24 clamshell prizes -- Use Kayla the Unicorn, Krissie the Clam, or just a tiny bit of skill. Do not buy out of it. Your earning potential from attempting to complete this mission high -- whereas buying out of it just wastes coins.
Travel 1800 meters collecting no coins in the air -- This mission is most easily completed with any character other than Niji the Narwhal. Stay close to the ground; turn off coin vortices if you want to; jump out of the water where there are no coins to pass the time or to make the rainbow birds come -- no enemies are there to worry about when the rainbow birds are around; and be sure not to jump up and collect rainbow-bird-droppings!! But it IS OK to travel with Scuttles and collect ALL coins associated with Scuttles -- even the upward arrow.
Travel with Molt 1800 meters -- Liam the Eagle.
Bump 140 seagulls -- It is possible to do this using Molt, Storval, steady or nearly steady speed blasts, or any combination thereof. If I have enough coins to spare, I buy out of this.
Wipe out after 1500-1600 meters -- resetting the level does not work. Avoid clamshells, Kayla, Krissie, and all Sea Buddies for all or part of this round.
Call in the rainbow bird twelve times -- Use Ava the Parrot or buy out of this. It takes too many rounds to complete.
Call in the rainbow birds twice in one swim -- Use Ava the Parrot (icon) to get this out of the way as quickly as possible.
Collect 650 coins in one swim -- a cinch with Niji -- even more of a cinch with Niji along with Evey as a pet.
Travel 5000 meters in one swim -- I tend to have best success at doing this with Storval. Anything that increases chances of having a Buddy is a good choice of pet here: Alex, Alexa, Kayla, Kellen, (Butterbean, Matteo, Saffron) or others.
Use Storval three times -- Baby Blue helps; but so would Alexa and Desmond or a combination of these if you have iOS.
Pop 250 bubbles -- Advice on popping bubbles is above -- but 250 bubbles is a lot; and if you have enough coins it is best to skip.
Use a McPuffmin invincibility Shield -- It is best to wait for one to come along (use Kayla and/or Krissie to increase incidence); but the game sometimes tends to make you wait a long time before getting the prize you need to complete this. It is almost always worth waiting rather than wasting 10000 points.
Travel 1800 meters with Storval -- Baby Blue. I tend to last longest with Storval by holding him/it at the water line and deviating only to avoid dangers. If you have iOS you can use BB and Kayla together -- then you are also likely to have McPuffmin at your side along the way.
Bump 50 seagulls in one swim -- see seagull advice above.
Get 250 misses with the Jelly Chains -- buy out of this if you have points to spare. It takes forever.
Travel 25000 meters -- this happens automatically but takes long enough that it might be a good idea to buy out.
Travel 400 meters with Storval in one swim -- see Storval advice above.
Call in the Rainbow Birds 4 times in one swim -- Use Ava the Parrot if you have it.
Use a Life Preserver -- Since a life preserver costs 15 sand dollars (and buying out 15 sand dollars with points costs 103x5000=515000 points or 103 missions!!), it makes WAY more sense to skip this mission for a measly 10000 coins!!
I am counting about 67 missions here.
